      You saw this built motor B58 engine get put together by Papadakis Racing the other day and the goal is 1000+ horsepower. We now get some beauty still shots of the motor which show off the manifold design and just the detail work on the motor.


      Enthusiasts debated whether the turbo manifold being integrated into the head would hurt or help aftermarket development.

      You can see how Papadakis Racing approached the motor with a custom manifold having both exhaust ports out of the head feed a big twin scroll BorgWarner 9280 turbocharger.

      What kind of flow is this design capable of? Will the head itself eventually become a restriction?

      Who knows. It sure is beautiful though.

        Been following this build from the beginning, it has massive views already on youtube. If this works out it's a first big step for the Supra/B58!

        Yep!

        Aviva/Mimo/Tial made the 3D printed aluminum intake manifold. Neat stuff from big names in the industry.

        I understand but the pics are from Papadakis Racing.

        Obviously it was a group effort with Full-Race, Mimo Technik, etc.

        Aftermarket turbo kits are going to be cheap as $#@!.

        That turbo will easily get them to 1000crank hp. The big boost off the shelf kit is already like 950hp crank. This build has a larger turbo so 1000hp should be doable on an engine dyno. Probably a good deal higher if they actually rev to 9k and that is a 110lb turbo iirc.

        Whats being done about the ZF 8HP51 transmission with only a 500NM or 368lbft torque rating?

        would be interesting to see how much a heavy duty auxiliary transmission cooler helps hold things together.

        If you are referring to a swap I am not sure how easy, quickly, or costly that would be...

        Physical limitations of the tunnel and surrounding supports, custom brackets, braces, and mounts
        Physical limitations of the bell housing to connect the trans to the engine
        Software limitations with controlling/pairing the different TCU with Supra ECU
        etc.

        Then again if you got the coin to build 1000hp B58 then why not go for a 8HP95 swap.
